SuperNet

The Alberta SuperNet is a 13,000 kilometer, high-speed, fibre and wireless broadband network. It links government offices, schools, health-care facilities and libraries in 429 communities across Alberta and allows them to share information and deliver services at incredible speeds. The Government of Alberta provided significant funding to build this telecommunications netfiber optic cablework in rural and urban communities.

The APLEN SuperNet Project assists public libraries with connectivity and utilization of the Alberta SuperNet. The APLEN SuperNet has ongoing funding from Municipal Affairs to enable libraries to connect to the SuperNet.
