Through its dynamic model of cooperation and collaboration, The Alberta Library works to identify challenges facing the library community and find innovative solutions.
Special projects enable The Alberta Library to act as a catalyst for positive change and enhance library services for all Albertans.

The Tell Me More Language Learning Software
project especially
benefits new Canadians. Fundedby a grant from thePublic Library
DevelopmentInitiative, this project pays for a one year license
of the software for TAL member public libraries in Alberta. The
goal of the project is to
provide language learning software tools to those needing additional languages or literacy support.
Library cardholders can use Tell Me More at their library or from their home computer by logging onto their library's website. Users can learn English, French, Italian, Dutch, German and Spanish.

The Alberta Library Digitization Project
The Alberta Library has begun work on the Digitization project recently approved
through a grant from the Public Library Development Initiative. TAL will assess
and prepare a vast body of resources found in Alberta libraries for digitization,
so it can be preserved, and shared with the world using the Internet.
