Visual Identity Guidelines

As The Alberta Library enters its second decade, our visual identity represents the evolution of the organization – reflecting our unique and diverse culture while creating unity and cohesiveness.

Consistency is essential in creating a coherent visual identity. Please follow these guidelines.

THE TAL LOGO

The open circle represents cooperation and collaboration as we embrace diverse interests and facilitate active participation in our activities. The circle also represents the openness that we practice as we respond to the evolving needs of the library community.

The blue element represents fibre optics – the electronic flow of information through The Alberta Library that enhances barrier-free access to information, ideas and culture.

This logo is designed to stand alone in its representation of the The Alberta Library and its core services, including the TAL Card, TAL Online, Online Reference Centre, Ask A Question and Licensing.

Member websites also use this logo.

The red spark represents the spark of ideas and innovation in the Alberta Public Library Electronic Network as it acts as a catalyst for positive change and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance library services.

The APLEN logo may be used on a publication, report or web page.

The logo may stand alone on letterhead (without the TAL logo).
